Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle made a controversial call or two this week - but that’s why, in my eyes, he’s paid the big bucks.

I’ve not lost my mind. I want to make that clear from the outset. I can feel criticism breathing down my neck. Controversial statement incoming, many will disagree and have good reason, but I can absolutely see a football logic behind keeping Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock at Newcastle United - and it goes beyond just giving Matthias Jaissle the keys.
