The NUFC changes I’d make for Everton - the XI Jaissle WILL select for the Carabao Cup

Newcastle United can progress to the last eight of the competition for the fifth year on the bounce with a win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Matthias Jaissle is not expected to make too many changes at Everton.

My NUFC XI to take on Everton

The idea of creating a culture of continuity after a win is something I’m massively on board with. And I really like that Matthias Jaissle has come into the club and shown a real respect to the cup competitions. But, I do think some changes, just slight alterations, will benefit the team and the squad.

I’d make changes to the three behind the striker, while keeping the back seven the same, to build relationships. Will Osula obviously starts as the only real striker at the club.

Minutes for Baz Toure and Jacob Ramsey would not go amiss, while Anthony Elanga, with another week of training under his belt, could cause havoc on Merseyside.

4-2-3-1: Hornicek; Dedic, Schar, Burn, Hall; Gonzalez, Joelinton; Elanga, Ramsey, Toure; Osula.
